A07 Blueprint’s the Blueprint 3 Album

If you aren’t up on current events, Jay-Z, “Blueprint III” which was scheduled to be released September 11, was pushed to release in stores Tuesday. We at A07, thanks to a few industry connects were fortunate enough to have a copy weeks before the store release. After general analysis and other worldwide opinions we have to say that we personally disagree with the mainstream consensus and critiquing of Hov’s 11th album.

For starters Jay’s been cited for being a little too experimental. Hard to understand in a industry where change is ever so steadily. Yesterday’s trend is tomorrows fad so to not try new sounds or do something outside of ones self norm is a sign tunnel vision and can have you ended up being called one dimensional. Jay addresses this issue in “On To The Next One” by letting us know, “If you wanna hear the old me// then buy my old shit!” However, he still managed to hit us with that vintage victory style music in tracks like, “Real As It Gets” feat. Young Jeezy and “Empire State of Mind” with Songstress Alicia Keys. Both tracks will make anyone feel like their bigger than they are. Production is pretty well rounded too.

One thing you’ll notice is Hov’s continuous reminder to all those who oppose his lyricism, maturity, longevity, and success. You call em old, he calls it grown man shit. After all, who got cats to step they button-up game up? Consistency is a big issue in Hip-Hop, and to think a new artist in today’s industry has 10 albums in em’, is pretty far fetched. The underlying message in BP3 to opposition is to fall back if you haven’t accomplished a piece of what I have. In “Thank You” he spits, “I was goin’ kill a couple rappers//but they did it to themselves//I was goin kill em’ with the flow//but they did it with they sales,” in reference to a platinum record coming every blue moon.

One of our favorite things about BP3 is Hov’s collaborations. He reached out to some of the newest fresh talent along with his usual’s. Look for fresh faces such as Drake, J.Cole, and Kid Cudi mixed with some of the games most established like Young Jeezy and Kanye West. Kanye also contributed to production with other Jay usuals like Pharrell, Swiss Beats, Timbland and more. Bottom line, Hov hasn’t lost a step, instead he’s proven that he can once again separate himself from the norm that is Hip-Hop.
